Step into the enchanting world of Italian storytelling with this collection of short films. This vibrant showcase presents seven Italian short films that offer a glimpse into the hearts and minds of some of Italy's most successful and inspiring creatives. The films include colourful and imaginative animations, modern drama, rarely seen historical documentary footage, a glimpse into daily life at a religious community, and a comedic take on learning to dance. Celebrate Italy’s rich culture and traditions by joining us for the screening. This collection of short films was curated in collaboration with La Guarimba Film Festival and is presented in partnership with the Embassy of Italy.

The seven Italian short films include:

Radio Perla Del Tirreno, a documentary directed by Noemi Arfuso

Rosaria's Marriage, an animation directed by Oscar Renni & Adina Oana Enache

Zabut, a drama directed by Giuseppe Schillaci

A Guerra Finita (Once War is Over), an animation directed by Simone Massi

In Light, a documentary directed by Alice Fassi

Pentola, and animation directed by Leo Cernic

Nother - Us, a music video directed by Marco Santi

The Circolo Italiano di Wellington cordially invites Club Garibaldi members, along with their guests, to their popular annual quiz.. un quiz di cultura generale italiana.

It's in English, but don't let that stop you.

Only $5 for Club members, $10 for their guests (max 4 per member*), which covers the cost of the supper, drinks, laughs and prizes.

PM Rosina van der Aa or text her on 021-621-245 to be added to the Club team(s) now!

Don't let them allocate her to one of their teams, because we can't form at least one of our own.

*The rule of how many guests per member is set out in Clause 4 of the Constitution as follows:

Any member may invite no more than four persons at any one visit, provided the following conditions are adhered to: invited guests must sign the visitor’s book with their name and address and the member accompanying them must also sign in.

The President may invite more than four guests at any one time.

No invitee shall become a frequent or regular visitor.

Members reciprocally associated with the Club need not be accompanied by a member provided they show sufficient evidence that they are a member of an affiliated club.

NB: the Circolo qualifies under this last point.

The brand new Ambassador of Italy to New Zealand, HE Mr Cristiano Maggipinto, in collaboration with the Circolo Italiano di Wellington and with the support of Club Garibaldi invite you to celebrate La Giornata di Made in Italy with the FREE viewing of the 2019 movie by Umberto Marino "Enrico Piaggio - Un sogno italiano" about he life of Enrico Piaggio and the story of the most famous scooter in the world "VESPA".
