Fantastico! The Aldo Cuccurullo Memorial Trophy will now spend the next 12 months (and longer we hope) housed in the Club Garibaldi clubrooms following our 1-0 win in the 20th annual football game against Club Italia.

Our President, Ginette Toscano Page, was joined by husband/club trustee Robin and the rest of her family at the function at which the Italian Ambassador, His Excellency Alessandro Levi Sandri, announced that Ginette had been awarded the distinction of Cavaliere by the Italian Government.
As happens with such awards Ginette had known about the award for several months but was sworn to secrecy and not a word got out about it beforehand.
However, no one should have been surprised at the award, such has been the dedicated service that Ginette has given to the club and the Italian community in Wellington. Not only has Ginette served magnificently as President of the club for four terms of two years – a total of eight years – but she had also previously served as club Secretary.
