By Sophia Basile - aged 12 years. "Throughout term 3, me and three friends worked on a Wearable Arts costume. The costume had to be made with a theme which was Maori myths - we decided to do a bird, from the myth Whataitai and Ngake. Our costume had lots of different parts and materials to it. We had wings, a tail, various bows throughout the costume, and a flax head piece and belt. The first decision our group had to make was the hardest - who would model the costume? Our names were drawn out of a hat several times, and each time my name came out so I got to present our group's costume on the night. I really enjoyed doing this activity with my friends, and it was a great experience!"
